Julija Menise is a corporate social responsibility professional with experience in the review and analysis of international standards and national laws and policy instruments related to human rights, labour rights, conflict minerals, environment, supply chain traceability among others. With her academic background in human rights law and environmental management and policy, her extensive field experience, and expert knowledge of responsible sourcing laws and international standards such as IFC Performance Standards, Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance, OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, the Responsible Jewellery Council, Julija has worked on advisory projects with clients related to development of responsible sourcing programs, including supply chain mapping and risk assessments, training, supplier monitoring and capacity building and continuous improvement. Julija has extensive onsite assessment experience conducting social and labour due diligence assessments, management system assessments in industries ranging from mining, smelting, manufacturing and retail to wood products and food and beverage in over 40 countries in Europe, USA, Latin America and Central Asia. She is a trained facilitator and stakeholder mapping and engagement professional, with extensive experience in convening on-site stakeholder workshops and convening long term industry processes lasting several years. Julija is an approved assessor for RMI, Copper Mark, Bettercoal, LME among others. She is based in Sweden and holds LLM in Human Rights Law & Intellectual Property Rights from Lund University, Sweden and MA in Jurisprudence from the Police Academy of Latvia, Riga.
